In the Name of Womanhood and Human Sovereignty

Today is the day: the day when we put women liberation, human rights and women’s achievements centre stage. The world keeps on turning they say, but the last 12 months the world has been turning in rather weird ways. We have been dominated by a bane brought to the masses to instil fear, anxiety and anger, and to lock people down. All for our own safety, it is said.

What’s in a Lockdown

The Dark Fairy has been rather absent in the realm of cyber space. While contemplating life, purpose and artistry, last summer I managed to escape from lockdown in Bocas paradise with the help of two dear friends, to enter another lockdown on the other side of the Atlantic. After an iconoclastic summer we moved into autumn and a Winter of Discontent. This winter has been an exercise of both defiance and surrender. Defiance against the fear-mongering and freedom-restricting bollocks that is supposed to tackle this global bane. I call it bollocks as imposed measures are not only arbitrary, they take a big shit on the concepts of freedom and human sovereignty. The defiance comes naturally to the freedom-loving Dark Fairy, but the surrendering has been a far more challenging exercise. For several years I had been fulfilling the dream of escaping (Western) European winter and living it up in the sun. Eighteen months ago, when no one had ever heard of the c-word, I was in the process of setting up base in the lush and beautiful tropical paradise of Bocas del Toro. But then the c-shit hit the fan and a few weeks spent in splendid tropical isolation, turned into months of seclusion with the geckos, anxiety and uncertainty as my main companions. So, I abandoned the new base to spend weird times in more familiar settings in the company of family and friends. I exchanged lockdown lonesomeness in the tropics for familiarity and companionship in the cold.

Going Dark

Once back on European soil, I was challenged to surrender to the shortening of the days and the dropping of outdoor temperatures. Submission to being at the mercy of the great kindness of my dear friends, who took me in as a proper lockdown-refugee, and the inability to travel, which is quite a big deal for an independent and freedom-loving creature like me. Just like nature goes within every winter, I was forced to go within to face the darkness. To face and acknowledge the demons, and to trust, like nature does, that new life with new purpose and new adventure will emerge. Billionaires and their stooges have been calling for the ‘Great Reset’ as the big solution to the current crisis they themselves have created, contributed to and profited from. Rather than buying into a scam devised by sociopath billionaires, I am having my own grand reset.

For Women, Humans and Sovereignty

In these weird times, International Women’s Day is not just about advocating human rights and women’s liberation. Now more than ever, it’s about owning our sovereignty and serve as an example for humanity as a whole. Living up to the sovereignty we were all born with means claiming your bodily integrity, whether this is about reproductive rights or choosing not to be a lab rat for Big Pharma. It means asserting your own mind, heart and gut and refusing to be told by sociopath billionaires who heavily influence ‘our’ governments how we should live our lives. It means claiming your right to free movement, social gathering and truly free enterprise.

Today we celebrate all the women who have gone before us; the brave ones, the pioneers, the supposed freaks, who made it possible for us to do what they couldn’t. Today we remind the world there is still a lot of work to be done for women and girls across the world who are still treated as second class citizens. Today we celebrate our sovereignty and that all people may own up to all the beauty that makes us wonderfully flawed and divinely infused humans.

Happy International Women’s Day.
