Due to human convention there are certain times and occasions when it’s deemed appropriate to utter words of wisdom filled with happy wishes or empathy. Like a wedding, the arrival of a new-born, someone passing on or -how appropriate- at the turn of the year. Those words of wisdom, in most cases, don’t tend to be that wise as peope seem to express the same old b*llocks in the same old conventional ways. I can fall into clichés and show my age by saying that I can’t believe another year has past just like that. But quickly it went and a darn good year it was. A year in which I continued my Middle Eastern adventure, got to know some fabulous people, lived the high-life, made some pretty cool journeys, got up to date at Lowlands- base camp, returned to the City of Cities, got to terms with my love-hate relationship with squiggle language and had a taste of the future. And guess what, the future tastes good. But you know what, f*ck 2010. F*ck the year that was and never will be again. Cherish the sweet memories, the new-found friends and newly obtained wisdom. Learn from mistakes that might have been made and things that could have been done better or differently. Now, lets move on and bring on the brilliance of 2011. Welcome to the new decade. Let it be a fabulous one, because we are so worth it.
Blessings,
